On October 1st, 2024, CaroMont Health and Carolina Caring launched an innovative, strategic partnership, with Gaston Hospice now operating under the name Carolina Caring.
While all services are branded under Carolina Caring, hospice and palliative care operations remain unchanged. This includes operations at the office on Remount Road in Gastonia, NC and the Robin Johnson House in Dallas, NC. Both facilities will welcome patients and families in our community who are in need of serious illness care.

The Robin Johnson House (Dallas, NC) is one of three hospice houses available to patients of Carolina Caring who qualify for inpatient hospice care. Other locations are the Catawba Valley Hospice House (Newton, NC) and the Sherrills Ford Hospice House
A mother’s final journey became the spark for something much greater. What started with a family’s experience inside a small hospice house in Hickory grew into a passionate effort to bring compassionate end-of-life care home to Gaston County. Through heartfelt storytelling, overwhelming community support, and the kindness of countless donors, a dream became reality — a place where families can gather, grieve, love, and simply be together during life’s most difficult moments.
