Carolina Caring is seeking an experienced and strategic Chief Operating Officer (COO) to lead organizational operations and ensure the delivery of high-quality, compassionate care across our hospice and palliative care services. As a key member of the executive leadership team, the COO will oversee daily operations across clinical, administrative, and support departments while aligning operational performance with Carolina Caring’s strategic goals.
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the COO will play a critical role in driving operational excellence, enhancing patient care, improving efficiency, and supporting sustainable organizational growth. This role will work closely with executive leadership to implement strategic initiatives, strengthen operational infrastructure, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements while maintaining a culture centered on service, accountability, and continuous improvement.
The ideal candidate will bring extensive healthcare leadership experience, strong operational expertise, and a proven ability to manage complex systems while fostering collaboration across departments. This leader will be instrumental in ensuring Carolina Caring continues to provide exceptional care to the communities we serve.
Employee Type:
Full-Time, Monday-Friday 8:30am-5pm
Minimum Experience:
Ten or more years of progressive leadership experience in hospice or healthcare operations, including at least 5 years in a senior executive role. Proven track record in managing multi-department or multi-state operations.
Required Degree:
Master’s degree or higher in health care administration, business administration, or a related field required. Clinical background (MD, RN, or other licensure) preferred in systems with strong clinical integration goals.
