Carolina Caring – FT Staff Accountant

Position Purpose:
Carolina Caring is seeking a full-time Staff Accountant to manage financial transactions, including fixed payments and variable expenses, and to provide accurate quantitative information regarding the organization’s financial position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assume responsibility for bank reconciliations and ensure integration with the general ledger.
  • Prepare journal entries and analyze general ledger accounts on a monthly basis.
  • Develop and prepare the annual budget.
  • Coordinate preparation of materials for external audits and financial reporting.
  • Generate monthly and year-to-date financial reports, including income statements and balance sheets, comparing actual results to budget projections.
  • Propose strategies to improve revenue, reduce operating expenses, and optimize use of funds.
  • Complete the annual Licensure Report and Medicare Cost Report.
  • Review financial statements with the Controller on a monthly basis.
  • Demonstrate familiarity with Carolina Caring policies; understand and adhere to rules, regulations, and standards of regulatory bodies, the QAPI program, and applicable accrediting agencies.
  • Comply in a timely manner with all mandatory in-service requirements of Carolina Caring.
  • Accept other assignments as appropriate.

Employee Type:

Full-Time, Monday-Friday 8:30am-5pm

Minimum Experience:

Two to three years of experience in related activities preferred. Must be capable of performing job responsibilities. 

Required Degree:

Minimum of associate degree in accounting, or related experience required. Bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred.
