DAVIE COUNTY, NC—Carolina Caring, the nonprofit serious illness care provider serving Western North Carolina and the Charlotte Region, announces an expansion of services into Davie County.
Carolina Caring is one of the first 3 hospice organizations established in North Carolina and has remained committed to the mission of providing high-quality, compassionate care for more than 45 years. The organization continues to evolve to meet the growing needs and expectations of the populations it serves.
The expansion into Davie County follows a period of significant organizational growth and distinction.
In early 2025, Carolina Caring earned accreditation from the Community Health Accreditation Partner (CHAP), along with CHAP’s “4M’s of Age-Friendly Care” certification. Its Pediatric program, Cardinal Kids, also became the 1st hospice in the state to receive CHAP’s “Pediatric Care at Home” certification.
Carolina Caring has added 3 specialized programs, Advanced Cardiac Care, Advanced Lung Care, and Dementia Care, to further support and address the distressing symptoms patients may face. The organization also participates in the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) GUIDE Model to enhance care for palliative medicine patients living with dementia.
Residents of Davie County will now have access to these programs and Carolina Caring’s continuum of accredited services, which includes Palliative Medicine, Hospice Care, Cardinal Kids, Bereavement support, and community grief programs for adults and children.
“Serious illness can be burdensome for a family, but by expanding our care to Davie County, more people will find expert support and comfort closer to home,” says Christina McNally, President & CEO, Carolina Caring. “We’re truly honored to serve this community, helping patients and families navigate serious illness with confidence, dignity, and the reassurance that they don’t have to face their diagnosis alone.”
Carolina Caring’s commitment to quality is reflected in its recognition as a Hospice Honors organization by the Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (CAHPS) as well as being named one of Modern Healthcare’s “Best Places to Work in Healthcare” for seven consecutive years.
