Routine Home Care

Personalized hospice care offered wherever you call home.

Routine home care is the most common level of hospice support, and is provided in hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities and patients’ homes. As part of routine home care, Carolina Caring’s skilled team pays regular visits to help manage pain and symptoms and offer emotional and spiritual support. This level of care ensures patients can spend the time they have in a comfortable, familiar environment.

General Inpatient Care

Round-the-clock support for acute symptom management.

When a patient’s condition worsens and cannot be addressed with at-home interventions, we recommend general in-patient care. This short-term, 24-hour care is available at our hospice houses. Our goal is to manage acute symptoms through close monitoring and personalized treatments, allowing patients to recover and return home or move to a higher-level facility.

Respite Care

Compassionate, comprehensive relief for caregivers.

Caring for a seriously ill loved one can be emotionally and physically taxing. To give you a break, short-term respite care is available at our hospice houses. This service allows family members to temporarily step away from the demands of caregiving, all while knowing their loved one is in capable hands. At Carolina Caring, respite care is available for five days per respite episode and must be provided according to Medicare guidelines.

Continuous Care

In-home support during times of crisis.

When a patient experiences uncontrollable pain or symptoms, we may recommend continuous care. Continuous care is available for short periods of crisis—typically eight to 24 hours—and is delivered at home. The hope is to make the patient as comfortable as possible while allowing families to remain together in familiar surroundings.
