Hospice Houses

While Carolina Caring makes every effort to allow your loved one to be at home where he or she is most comfortable, disease progression sometimes requires more attentive, round-the-clock care.

For your convenience, Carolina Caring offers two in-patient facilities, featuring 24/7 admissions, where our staff can manage your loved one’s symptoms and prepare him or her to return home or to another facility when the diagnosis is under control again.

 Catawba Valley Hospice House

Our Catawba Valley Hospice House enjoys a picturesque setting midway between the towns of Newton and Hickory in the Foothills of North Carolina. Inspired by mountain lodge architecture, the hospice house is a state-of-the-art medical center offering world-class care, along with a host of amenities that ensure the comforts of home.

SHERRILLS FORD HOSPICE HOUSE

Our Sherrills Ford Hospice House sits on gently rolling terrain amid the coves and communities of Lake Norman, just outside of Charlotte – North Carolina's largest city. Steeped in the charm of the Blue Ridge mountains nearby, the hospice house has been carefully designed to deliver superlative medical care amid the comfortable furnishings of a home-like setting.

From Newton
From Highway 10 West, turn right onto Robinson Road. Carolina Caring is less than one mile on the left.

From I-40 West
Traveling west on I-40 from Statesville, take exit 125 (Lenoir-Rhyne Boulevard). At the stop light at the top of the ramp, turn left onto Lenoir-Rhyne Blvd. Proceed through 4 stop lights, passing by a Home Depot and a Shurtape building on the right side of the road. The road will narrow from 4 lanes to 2 lanes, and the road name changes from Lenoir-Rhyne Blvd to Robinson Road. Continue approximately 4 miles. Carolina Caring is on the right.

From I-40 East
Traveling east on I-40 from Asheville, take exit 125 (Lenoir-Rhyne Boulevard). At the stop light at the top of the ramp, turn right onto Lenoir-Rhyne Boulevard. Proceed through 3 stop lights, passing by a Home Depot and a Shurtape building on the right side of the road. The road will narrow from 4 lanes to 2 lanes, and the road name changes from Lenoir-Rhyne Blvd to Robinson Road. Continue approximately 4 miles. Carolina Caring is on the right.

From Highway 70
Take US Hwy 70 East. Turn right onto Robinson Road at the intersection with Five Guys Burgers and Home Depot. Continue straight through 3 stop lights (about 4 miles). Carolina Caring is on the right, just after a small bridge.

From Highway 321 North
Traveling north on Hwy 321 from Gastonia and Lincolnton, take exit 37 (Hwy 10) in Newton. You will come to a stop light at the end of the ramp. Turn right onto Hwy 10. Proceed approximately 1 mile, and turn left onto Robinson Road. Watch for the entrance to the Carolina Caring campus, 4/10ths of a mile on the left.

From Highway 321 South
Traveling south on Hwy 321 from I-40, take exit 37 (Hwy 10) in Newton. You will come to a stop sign at the end of the ramp. Turn left onto Hwy 10. Proceed approximately 1 mile, and turn left onto Robinson Road. Watch for the entrance to the Carolina Caring campus, 4/10ths of a mile on the left.

From Highway 16 North
Traveling south on Hwy 16 from Taylorsville, turn left onto Thornburg Dr. SE and merge onto I-40W. Take exit 126. Turn left onto McDonald Pkwy SE. After the third light, stay left to continue on what is now Startown Road. Go approximately 1 mile and turn right onto Robinwood Road. Go 2 miles and turn right onto Sandy Ford Road. Turn left at the next light onto Robinson Road. Carolina Caring is on the right.

From Frye Regional Medical Center
Leave the Frye campus via 3rd Avenue NE. Turn right onto NC Hwy 127 (North Center Street). Proceed through 8 stop lights, and turn left on US Hwy 321 South. After 5 miles, you will reach exit 37 (exit sign says "Newton"); turn left off the exit onto NC Hwy 10 East. Proceed approximately 1 mile, and turn left onto Robinson Road. Watch for the entrance to the CRHCarolina Caring campus, 4/10ths of a mile on the left.

From Catawba Valley Medical Center
Turn right out of the CVMC parking lot. Proceed less than 1/2 mile; take Interstate 40 West to exit 125 (Lenoir-Rhyne Boulevard). At the stop light at the end of the ramp, turn left onto Lenoir-Rhyne Boulevard. Proceed through 4 stop lights, passing by a Home Depot and a Shurtape building on the right side of the road. Directions to Sherrills Ford Hospice House

From I-40
Take exit 135 for Claremont and proceed south on North Oxford Street. Turn left onto Hwy 70/Main Street. At the next light, turn right onto South Depot Street and continue 3 miles to Hwy 10. Turn left onto NC Hwy 10 and continue for 3 miles. Turn right onto Murrays Mill Road. At the fork, bear left onto Sherrills Ford Road and continue 5.5 miles. The facility will be on your right.

From I-77
Take exit 36 and proceed west on Highway 150 for approximately 7 miles. Turn right onto Sherrills Ford Road at the Terrell Country Store. The facility is 3.5 miles on the left.

From I-85 South (Gastonia)
Take exit 17 for US-321N toward Gastonia/Lincolnton. Continue north on Hwy 321 for 14 miles and take exit 24 for NC 27/150 toward Lincolnton. Keep left at the fork to turn left onto 150 E/NC 27 E/E Main St. After 1.4 miles turn left on Hwy 150 E. Go 11.6 miles and turn left onto Mt. Pleasant Rd. Go 4.8 miles and turn right onto Sherrills Ford Rd. Carolina Caring will be on the right.

From Highway 16 South
Head northwest on Hwy 16 and take the Hwy 150 exit toward Lincolnton/Mooresville and turn right on NC 150E. Go 2.5 miles and turn left onto Mt Pleasant Rd. Go 4.8 miles and turn right onto Sherrills Ford Rd. Carolina Caring will be on the right.

From Highway 150 (Mooresville)
From NC Hwy 150 in Mooresville, continue on NC Hwy 150W approximately 10 miles. Turn right onto Sherrills Ford Road at the Terrell Country Store. Carolina Caring is 3.5 miles on the left.

From Highway 321
Head south on 321S approximately 4.7 miles and take exit 20 toward High Shoals/Lincolnton. Take a left onto Business 321 South. Go 1/2 mile and turn left onto Salem Church Road. Go approximately 5 miles and turn right onto NC 150E/NC 27E/E Main St. Turn left onto 150E. Go 12 miles and turn left onto Mt. Pleasant Rd. Go 4.8 miles and turn right onto Sherrills Ford Road. Carolina Caring will be on the right.

From Highway 73
From Walmart in Denver, travel 73W and turn right onto the ramp to Newton. Merge onto NC-16N. Take the 150E exit toward Lincolnton/Mooresville and turn right. Go 2.5 miles and turn left onto Mt Pleasant Rd. Go 4.8 miles and turn right onto Sherrills Ford Road. Carolina Caring will be on the right.
